Every decision we make — curriculum, schedule, pace, tools — flows from three core commitments that define what education means in our family.
We hold students to the standard of the classical tradition: mastery over pace, depth over coverage, and the ability to think clearly, write precisely, and argue well. No shortcuts. No grade inflation.
Knowledge without wisdom is incomplete. We believe that education of the whole person — mind, character, and spirit — is the real work. Faith isn't a subject; it's the soil everything else grows in.
Our students learn personal finance, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking alongside literature and mathematics. We prepare them not just for college, but for a life of purpose and contribution.
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
— Proverbs 22:6
Our Philosophy
Our homeschool began during COVID — out of necessity, and then out of conviction. What started as a response to circumstance became something we couldn't give back: the freedom to educate our children the way we believe they were made to learn. In 2026 we formalized that journey as Hana Bloom Academy.
We draw from the classical tradition — the great books, Socratic dialogue, mastery of language and logic — while staying grounded in the faith and values that shape our family. Every subject is taught with the belief that education is ultimately formation, not just information.
As a Texas private homeschool, we have the freedom to build an education that is fully intentional, deeply personal, and anchored in what matters most.
How We Teach
Students advance when they have truly mastered a concept — not when the calendar says so. This builds a foundation that holds under pressure.
Great books form the backbone of every subject. Students read primary sources, not summaries — encountering ideas directly from the thinkers who shaped civilization.
A structured daily schedule provides the discipline students need, while our flexibility allows us to follow curiosity, pursue depth, and take learning into the real world.
Parent-led instruction means students receive individualized attention, Socratic dialogue, and real mentorship — not just a curriculum on a screen.
